Day Two

Destinations: Island of Vulcano, Grotta del Cavallo and Piscine di Venere

The holiday really gets in full swing.

After breakfast, the gulet will stop at “la Grotta del Cavallo”, a natural cave surrounded by a deafening silence. The second stop of our morning schedule is at “Piscine di Venere”, where a swim is a must. According to the myth, this suggestive and colourful place would restore the virginity of the person who goes swimming in it. The shallow and warm waters are the perfect frame to a rich and multi-colour sea life. This is an amazing immersion for seabed lovers.

In the afternoon, we will arrive at Vulcano Island, where you can bathe in the sulphurous pools, known to be curative and therapeutic for the skin. It’s possible to reach the top of the volcano in one hour long hike, to enjoy one of the most breath-taking landscape of the Aeolian archipelago. On the crater, the composition of the soil is particularly rich in sulphur, which creates a fantastic kaleidoscope. Some fumaroles are still there to testify the last eruption occurred in 1890.

Autonomus dinner and night on board.

Day Three

Destinations: Aeolian Islands: Stromboli Island, Strombolicchio and “Sciara del Fuoco”

Breakfast on board and then off to the little island of “Lisca Bianca” near Panarea, where the herring gulls build their nests. Here, you will be able to make your first swim of the day.
The island of Stromboli is our stop of the afternoon. Here, there is a famous, active volcano, characterised by continuous and explosive eruptions. Led by expert guides, you may be able to hike to the top of the crater. The excursion takes about 6 hours and a good fitness level may be required. However, the amazing 800m high landscape is worth the effort, with an unforgettable view on the “Sciara del Fuoco”.
In the evening, you can have dinner on board, in front of the unique scenery represented by Stromboli and his eruptions.
Night on board.

Day Four

Destinations: Aeolian Islands: Island of Panarea, Basiluzzo and Calaiunco

Breakfast on board. Circumnavigation of the Island of Panarea, the smallest island of the archipelago. In ancient times, it was called “Panarayas” - that means the greatest - by the first Greek colonisers. The name is due to her ancient breadth. Through thousands and thousands years, the geological and eruptive activity has deeply transformed the appearance of the island, because of the continuous, telluric movements which made most of the volcanic area collapse into the sea.

Today, this motion is still happening, so that the island falls into the water about 1cm every ten years.
For many years, Panarea was the biggest island of the Aeolian archipelago, that’s why there is a series of small islands (Basiluzzo, Spinazzola, Lisca Bianca, Lisca Nera, Bottaro e Dattilo) to the north-east of Panarea. All of these islands are the results of a tremendous eruption. On Dattilo island it is still possible to see little fumaroles raising from the rocks, where the water reaches very high temperature and the smell of sulphur is intense.

In Basiluzzo there is a port and an ancient, Roman Villa underwater, that can be seen by the those who likes scuba-diving.
Dinner and night on board.

Day Five

Destinations:  Aeolian Islands: Island of Lipari, the main town in the archipelago

Breakfast on board and navigation towards the island of Lipari. Enjoy your free time in the morning, where you can visit the historical centre and the archaeological museum “Bernabò Breà”, which tells the Aeolian prehistory and was founded by the homonymous Ligurian archaeologist.
In the afternoon, the gulet will cruise around the island, sailing through the Faraglioni rocks. Later, you can have a swim at the beach of Valle Muria.
